6th July 2020 Update

Information for members on the opening of the outdoor bowling green, snooker tables and lounge bar.

The club will open on Monday 6th July 2020 during the hours of 2pm until 10pm daily.
At present Government guidelines do not allow indoor bowling, therefore the indoor arena is closed.
The Management Committee have implemented many changes to comply with current Government and Bowls England guidelines and which will be trialled for a period of two weeks to assess if all the safety measures can be sustained. Our main priority is to keep members and staff safe. Any persistent breaches of these changes may result in the facility being closed again. During this trial period the kitchen will remain closed.
Sanitising stations are available throughout the club and will be topped up regularly.

Outdoor Bowling, Snooker, Lounge Bar Open
Indoor Bowling, Kitchen, Catering & Food, Bingo, Live Entertainment Closed

Members should not attend the club if showing any signs or symptoms, or have knowingly been in contact with someone diagnosed with Covid-19 within the last 14 days. Those who have visited the club in the last 14 days and become aware of having symptoms or being in contact with others showing symptoms should inform the club immediately. All members must give contact details each time on entry to the club (destroyed after 21 days).

Please be patient and respectful of staff and other members at this difficult time.

Outdoor Bowling
Booking rinks is essential; outdoor members should ring or call at the club during opening hours. Prior to playing, the names of all the players and a contact number will be required.
Two-hour bowling slots will be booked on the even hour, allowing 1 hour 40 minutes of playing time plus 10 minutes before and after to change shoes and leave the area for the next players to arrive. Please do not arrive early, this will avoid congestion alongside the green. Do not start playing an end if it cannot be completed by 10 minutes before the end of your session.
There will be a maximum of 6 players allowed per rink, and social distancing is essential. At present, the distance between players should be no less than 2 metres, unless it is with a member of your household, or your bubble.
Alternate rinks will be used to allow space to pass when changing ends, e.g. Rinks 2, 4, 6, 8
If rink demand is high, there may be restrictions on the number of times per week a player can book.
Bowls may be retrieved from your indoor locker on your first visit, but afterwards, no equipment or clothing can be left at the club.
The outdoor toilets will be open with hand washing and sanitizing facilities, changing rooms will not be open.
An information sheet will be given to you on arrival to explain the new club rules of outdoor bowling.

Snooker
Booking snooker tables is advisable; snooker members can ring or call in the club during opening hours.
Prior to playing, the names of all the players and a contact number will be required.
Two-hour snooker slots will be allocated on the even hour, allowing 1 hour 50 minutes of playing time plus 10 minutes at the end of the session for sanitizing all touched areas.
Only the two outer tables will be in use and at present with only two players per table.
Sets of snooker balls to be returned to the bar after every session for sanitizing.
An information sheet will be given to you on arrival to explain the new club rules of snooker.

Lounge Bar
During this period, the kitchen will remain closed.
A one-way system is in operation so please follow the arrows and signage for entry and exit routes.
A booking system will operate for groups of 4 or more due to reduced indoor seating availability.
During the trial period there will be no need to book for groups less than 4 however this will be monitored and changed if needed. We are operating a 2-metre spacing policy and request that no tables or chairs are moved without consulting a member of staff. Designated areas have been set aside for larger groups and should only be used if no other seating is available.
Drinks can be ordered from the bar following social distancing guidelines or by using your mobile and texting your order to the bar. Contactless payment is the preferred payment method.
Sanitising stations are available throughout the club and will be topped up regularly.

All arrangements are subject to amendment at any time, at the discretion of the Management Committee.

We hope to see you soon.
Please stay safe and well
